Return of the Haunted Teacosy Part Deux
Greetings! The haunted teacosy has been quiet for a while now so here's a little post to make up for lost time. I have a new computer and all my brushes, textures and fonts are still on my old pooter so these icons are all very plain and simple.

fineeyes on March 23rd, 2008 07:52 pm (UTC)
LOL I was just thinking I needed an icon of someone in a dunce cap ;P. That cover of Persuasion is hilarious! I'm definitely bringing into my Austen class when we read Persuasion in a week or so.

You have such a talent with black and white photography! My B&W stuff always looks so blah, but yours is so smooth, varied, interesting... basically it's awesome :D.

You are definitely doing something quirky and artsy with your numbering, but it makes me head hurt trying to keep track of which icon is which :-X.
ghostlybohemia on March 24th, 2008 05:54 pm (UTC)
Well y'know there just aren't enough icons of people in dunce caps. There just aren't enough dunce caps full stop.

Oh, the Persuasion book cover is all kinds of crazy. Here is the cover in all its dubious glory (complete with ship). Your Austen class will love it!

My dear, your icons are fabbooo... not blah. I'm working on a few tuts for B&W icons though, or I was before the Great Computer Loss of 2007. I'll go back to it because there might be some sense to be had in there...maybe.... Many thanks for all the nicies though - mmmmwahhh!

I wish that the numbering could be called artsy, in fact, it's lazy masquerading as artsy. :D I'm sorry if it made your head hurt petal. I won't do it again. ((((hug))))

Ha, I actually have that edition of Persuasion! I got it from a used book sale at my library. It's really awful! I have several dodgy Austen editions, being too poor to buy the pretty ones. I have this very awful edition of P&P, the cheapest one in the bookstore (published by TOR books, I believe) which features an illustrated Mr. Darcy in a purple coat and turquoise waistcoat. The back cover describes the plot as if it were a soap opera. It's hilarious!

Stumbled in here from ogeecons, I think...
ghostlybohemia on April 21st, 2009 09:14 pm (UTC)
Ooooh I'm so envious. I love terrible covers. The P&P one sounds amazingly hideous. I don't suppose you have a scan of it, do you? If so I would love to see it if it's no trouble. Austen blog love bad covers too.

Thanks for the comment. Take care. xxxx
loramir on April 21st, 2009 09:48 pm (UTC)
It is indeed amazingly hideous. Although it's the back cover copy that really makes it incredible. I've just posted it over at my journal.
